Initial Consultation

Whether you are just considering therapy or are ready to get started,  I am happy to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation. This will help us determine if we might work well together. We can talk about what is leading you to seek therapy and I can provide you with more information on my approach. To set up a consultation, please contact me via phone at 510-686-3243, email at lindsay@lindsayevanspsychotherapy.com, or by submitting your contact information through this website.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. Weekly sessions are recommended to ensure that we make consistent progress toward your goals but in some cases, biweekly sessions may be the right fit. The length of treatment varies widely depending on the nature of each person’s goals and concerns. If you are interested in starting therapy, please contact me for a consultation that is tailored to your needs.

*Due to COVID-19 precautions, all sessions are being conducted virtually via Google Meet at this time.

Fees and Insurance

I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. Please contact your insurance provider directly to verify your out-of-network benefits as you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for some of the cost associated with your care. I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement for services rendered, commonly referred to as a “superbill”, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service. Fees for individual therapy are $200 per session.

Good Faith Estimate For Services

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.  Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services, including psychotherapy.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. You may request that I give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your appointment and can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.
